Courts

With 5 Championship Squash Courts – 3 of which are superb glass-backed, there is no excuse not to have a great game here at the Manor.  In May 2011 all courts were converted to LED lighting which has made a tremendous difference to the light levels and consistency/quality of light.  With little or no maintenance to worry about the court lights are pretty much now maintenance free and the excellent viewing galleries make for a great viewing experience no matter where you stand/sit – and for coaching the environment is safe, easy and simple to control.

There really is something for every level of player here at the Manor, from complete beginner right through to the most die-hard addict.  We host a range of activities ranging from friendly games, Friday night ‘Club Night’ through to internal league games and knock-out & handicapped competitions.  We have club teams competing in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Squash & Racquetball County Leagues as well as Team Training night’s as well as National & International Junior & Senior competitions.  As well as that we are the base for many County & Regional training squads and are currently home to the annual Derbyshire Junior Open Squash events at all junior age groups (please see the England Squash & Racquetball website for further details at www.englandsquashandracketball.com – click on ‘Competitions’ & then ‘Sanctioned Events’).

We are really fortunate to have the services of resident Head Coach (CRB Licensed ESR Level II Squash & Racquetball Coach), Curtis Tomlinson who is an Ex-England Junior Ranked player and has just signed up to play for Derbyshire in future Inter-County events at both Squash & Racquetball.

As well as holding 1-2-1 & group coaching sessions Curtis also runs his Junior Coaching Programme on Sunday mornings from 10-12 noon at a cost of just £3 (5-9 year olds 10-11am & 10-16 year olds from 11-12).  Just call reception on 0115 930 5027 for further details, to book in or for individual prices for his other coaching sessions.

Curtis also has assistance from semi-retired Level IV Coach John “Robbo” Robertson.  Robbo has many years’ experience coaching all around the Derbyshire area and came out of retirement to help the club on Monday afternoons/evenings.  If you want to know anything about Squash &/or Racquetball in Derbyshire then Robbo is the man to ask!
