Junior

Junior

We have a growing Junior section at the club, and currently host a number of competitions and tournaments for the age range.

Juniors are welcome on court with an adult.

Goggles are provided and are mandatory for all junior sessions and competitions whether at the club or competing in any other competitions at other clubs.  We also provide rackets and balls for all participants.  All we ask is that you come with non-marking footwear (i.e. indoor trainers).

All our coaching staff are CRB checked and hold a valid 1st aid certificate and this is a safe working environment for children.  The wearing of eye protection is paramount whilst playing Squash and is strictly enforced at all times.

For the attending parents not wishing to put their children off the session, there is a lounge bar area to relax in upstairs with a large flat screen TV if you wish to catch up on any sporting action on Sky, however all parents are more than welcome to watch the fun at all times as the glass-backed courts provide a perfect viewing gallery.

Eventually all children are encouraged to play some competitive games (should they so wish) as there is an ongoing Derbyshire Grand Prix series developing for juniors of all ages.  This has been provided for all abilities, from beginners through to the more experienced junior player and they all compete at their relevant levels, so the transition to competition play is really quite smooth.

Please feel free to come along for free to your first session to see if you like it – there’s no pressure and no commitment – just come along and see if it’s for you.  England currently have the number 1 & 2 men’s players in the world and the world number 2 lady player so we’re certainly doing something right.

If you think that Squash could be for your child there’s no better time to come along and have a go.

We look forward to seeing you really soon.
